Manual Machinist Jig & Fixture 1st Shift
Pay Range:Ā $18.00 ā $27.00 per hour
PURPOSE/FUNCTION/SUMMARY (TRAINING NEEDS)
Use precision tools, machinery and equipment to fabricate and shape parts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reads and interprets blueprints.
- Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as Bridgeport Machine, lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw, push and pull broaches, and a variety of cutting tools and equipment.
- Fabricates and shapes parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal, plastics and composites
- Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling.
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
- Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend change or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production.
- Utilizes and abides by safety procedures.
- Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
- Verifies that all product produced meets customer specifications and is in accordance with Company quality standards.
- Provide assistance to co-workers as needed, in the spirit of teamwork, with the goal of meeting or exceeding customer requirements.
- Support and promote the team environment.
- Meet and/or exceed all production and quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Education/Training:Ā High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Estimating time and materials for machine jobs.
- General knowledge in metals and the quality and machinability and uses of metals, alloys and other materials, machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance.
- Willing to learn/cross-train on boring bar.
- Design techniques, tools and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans and drawings.
- Must be a detail-oriented, self-driven person capable of prioritizing tasks based on impact to the company.
