Titan Roofing: The Northeast’s Commercial Roofing, Sheet Metal, and Restoration Contractor
Titan Roofing – Albany, NY
Since 1978, Titan Roofing has established itself as the premier commercial roofing, sheet metal, and restoration contractor of the Northeast. With three offices in the region, two large sheet metal fabrication facilities, and an experienced workforce, Titan has what it takes to tackle projects of all sizes. Ranging from high profile projects for buildings like the Prudential Building in Boston, MA, to replacements of roofs and finials for churches, they stand at the ready to provide excellent, comprehensive services for a wide range of clients.

In order to provide their level of excellence for such a range of projects, Titan Roofing’s two sheet metal fabrication facilities are home to “some of the most advanced equipment in the industry,” says James Chmielinski, Fabrication and Production Manager at Titan Roofing.
Among those advanced machines stands a collection of Roper Whitney equipment: the AutoBrake, AutoMax, Mechanical Shear, AutoKut, and Magnabend.
With these machines, Titan sought to “streamline fabrication [and] offer more consistent products with less joints/seams in the assembly and installation processes,” Chmielinski says.
They have not been disappointed.
Detailing the impact of the AutoMax long folder and the AutoBrake, Chmielinski states:
“The [AutoMax] has allowed us to fabricate gutter and downspout lengths up to 20′. This minimizes seams which are the weak point of any system. In some cases the only seams are located at miters. Using the AutoBrakes as a tool for layout allows us to design patterns much more accurately. Because the layout lines correspond directly to the bend lines we are able to create and cut patterns for even the most complicated cornice work out of flat sheets prior to brake forming. After the forming process, the miters fit with little to no field modifications.”
Concerning the AutoKut, Chmielinski says that it “has given [them] the ability to process 48″ coils with speed and efficiency. Smaller pieces needed for step flashings etc. — which typically require a lot of man hours to produce due to the volume of pieces required and the need to make two cuts to generate one piece — can be produced 10x faster.”
Addressing the Magnabend, Chmielinski notes that it “allows [them] to make small parts and pieces with complex opposing bend. These bends are impossible on other equipment.”
Of all the features and capabilities these machines provide, Chmielinski calls out the metal folders’ software as a favorite for drawing complex designs with radiuses.
“Handwriting and imputing cornice programs on our older software was very time consuming,” says Chmielinski. “Some of these programs exceeded 100 bends and would have to be performed over two separate programs.”
Choosing Roper Whitney is a no-brainer for Chmielinski. “Titan has a long standing relationship with Roper Whitney,” he says. “Every interaction has been positive and the customer service has been stellar.”
Powered by excellence from their American workforce, ownership, and machinery, Titan Roofing presses on, serving clients throughout the Northeast for projects of all sizes.
