Electrical Control Engineer
Salary Range: $68,000 – $95,000
PURPOSE/FUNCTION/SUMMARY (TRAINING NEEDS)
Responsible for the design, development, and testing of electrical control systems for sheet metal fabrication machinery. This role ensures the full-function operation of equipment by managing electrical schematics and software updates for the Roper Whitney software platform.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Electrical Design & Schematics: Create, develop, and update detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for new and existing machinery.
- Software Management: Oversee software updates for machine controls (CNC systems), and ensure all units operate with the latest feature.
- Project Development: Lead small-scale electrical and software projects to enhance machine functionality or improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Technical Service Support: Provide high-level assistance to the Service Department in diagnosing and resolving complex software and electrical issues.
- Documentation & Manuals: Author and maintain technical documentation, including electrical specifications and software guides; contribute to the drafting and updating of machine operation manuals.
- Engineering Change Notices (ECN): Manage the ECN process for electrical components and software, ensuring meticulous version control across machine lines.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Control Engineering or Mechatronics Program
- Experience/Skills: Highly detailed and organized
- Proven experience with electrical CAD software is required (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar); proficiency in any industry-standard platform is acceptable.
